About Wafabail
Wafabail is the leasing company of the Attijariwafa bank group. Created in 1976, a joint-stock company with a management board and supervisory board licensed by Bank Al-Maghrib under law 103-12, it is owned 58.90% directly by Attijariwafa bank and 40% by BCM Corporation, the group's holding company, according to its 2025 annual financial report filed with the AMMC. Its management board has been chaired since 13 May 2024 by Karim Idrissi Kaitouni, and its supervisory board by Ismail Douiri, deputy CEO of Attijariwafa bank in charge of international retail banking and specialised finance subsidiaries. The head office is at 41 boulevard Moulay Youssef, Casablanca, and headcount stood at 123 at end-2025.
Market position: Attijariwafa bank's corporate page presents Wafabail as Morocco's leasing leader, with around 24.1% of the sector's financial assets and 23.5% of financing granted. In the first half of 2025, total production reached 2,220 million dirhams (+37.4%), consolidating first place on production, for total assets of 12.9 billion (AMMC half-year report). For the full 2025 year, parent-company net income came to 152.6 million dirhams versus 128.1 million in 2024 (+19%), net banking income to 449.5 million (versus 435.3 million) and total assets to 13.4 billion.
Leasing offer: through equipment leasing Wafabail finances company cars and vans, trucks, industrial and agricultural equipment, construction machinery, IT and medical equipment, as well as green energy production projects on behalf of companies; real estate leasing covers offices, shops, warehouses and factories. The principle: the company buys the asset and leases it to the business over a set term (generally 3 to 7 years for equipment, longer for property), rents are deductible from taxable income and ownership transfers at the end of the contract against a residual value. Sale and lease-back lets you sell an asset you already own and lease it back to free up cash.
Who it is for, at what cost: the offer targets professionals, micro-businesses, SMEs and large companies, primarily Attijariwafa bank customers, whose network handles distribution. Wafabail publishes no rate grid: rents depend on the asset, term, down payment (increased first rent) and profile. To compare a vehicle LOA or LLD with a standard loan, our leasing vs car loan guide and our analysis 'is leasing really worth it?' detail the tax treatment (VAT, depreciation, residual value) and the traps of return fees. Companies seeking a Sharia-compliant alternative can read our Ijara guide.
Building a leasing file, step by step: 1) gather the quote or pro-forma invoice for the asset, articles of association and trade register, the last three balance sheets (or proof of income for a professional) and bank statements; 2) file the request with your Attijariwafa bank relationship manager or directly with Wafabail; 3) decision after analysis of repayment capacity, usually within a few days for a vehicle; 4) signature of the leasing contract and insurance; 5) delivery of the asset by the supplier, paid directly by Wafabail, then monthly or quarterly rent payments.
Complaints and recourse: first send a written complaint to Wafabail or your Attijariwafa bank branch; a reply is mandatory within 40 working days. Failing a solution, refer the matter free of charge to the Moroccan Banking Mediation Centre, which covers financing companies, then to Bank Al-Maghrib.
